In short: Learn with Khadeejah works on your phone only. It has no internet access, no accounts, no ads and no tracking. We do not collect, receive or share any information about you or your child through the app.
Learn with Khadeejah ("the app") is a learning app for young children, from Pre-Nursery to Class 2. It is made by Yasir Rasool ("we", "us"), Amda Kadal, Lal Bazar, Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir 190011, India. We wrote this policy in plain words.
1. What the app keeps on your phone
To work, the app saves some information on your phone only, in the app's own private storage. Other apps cannot read it, and it is never sent to us or to anyone else:
- for each child (up to three): the first name or nickname a parent types, boy or girl and the colours chosen for the child's character, and the child's class;
- learning progress: levels, stars, coins, stickers, which activities were played and when, time played each day, good-habit marks, promises and games progress;
- settings, and lessons or quizzes a parent makes in the parent area, with any photos the parent chooses for them (section 4);
- voice recordings a parent makes in the app, and voice files a parent chooses to add (section 3).
You do not need to give a child's full name; a first name or nickname is enough.
2. What we do not collect
- The app has no internet access. It cannot send information anywhere.
- There are no accounts, no sign-in and no email address asked for.
- There are no ads and no advertising or tracking tools.
- There are no analytics and no crash reports.
- The app does not use location, contacts, the camera or the advertising ID.
- The app has no chat or social features. Children cannot talk to anyone through the app.
3. The microphone and voice files
The app asks for microphone permission only when a parent chooses to record their own voice in the parent area (Parents › Voice). Android asks at that moment, and the parent can say no; the app still works with the phone's voice.
- Recordings, and any voice file a parent adds from the phone, are kept only on this phone.
- The children's games never use the microphone. The app never listens to the child.
- The app reads only the one voice file the parent picks; it does not look at other files.
4. Photos for your own lessons
In the parent area (Parents › My lessons) a parent can add a photo to a quiz question, an answer or a lesson card. The phone's own photo picker opens, and the app receives only the photo the parent picks; it asks for no permission to see your gallery. The photo is copied into the app's private storage on this phone and is never sent anywhere. The app does not use the camera.
5. The daily reminder
If a parent turns on the daily reminder (Parents › Play time), the phone shows a notification at the chosen time ("It's learning time"). The reminder is made on the phone itself; nothing is sent from or to a server. Android asks once for permission to show notifications, and the parent can turn the reminder off at any time.
6. The phone's voice
When there is no recording for a line, the app uses your phone's own text-to-speech voice. The app gives the phone's speech service only the words to say. That speech service is part of your phone and is covered by its maker's own privacy terms. If a parent chooses one of the phone's online voices in Parents › Voice, the phone's speech service may use the internet for it; the offline voices keep everything on the phone.
7. Things you choose to send
A few buttons in the parent area open your phone's share menu or another app, only when a parent taps them:
- Backup makes one file of the progress and settings, for you to keep or move to a new phone.
- Certificate makes a picture of a child's certificate for a finished book, to save or send.
- Share this app sends a short message about the app to a friend. It contains no information about your child.
- Send feedback opens WhatsApp with a message to us, which you can read and change before sending.
You choose the app (for example WhatsApp or Drive), and nothing is sent until you press Send in that app. What happens next is covered by that app's own privacy policy.
8. Payments (Google Play)
A parent can start a family subscription in the parent area, with 7 free days and then a monthly or yearly plan. Payments, free trials, renewals and cancellations are handled entirely by Google Play. We never see or store card, UPI or bank details. The app checks with Google Play, on the phone, whether a subscription is active. Google may give us limited order information (for example an order number, date, country and the plan bought) to manage refunds, support and tax records, as described in Google's terms; we use it only for those purposes. Google's own privacy policy applies to the payment: policies.google.com/privacy.
Children never see a price, and buying is only possible in the parent area.
9. Children's privacy
The app is made for children, so we designed it to collect nothing:
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children (or from anyone) through the app.
- A parent or guardian sets up the app, and changes in the parent area need a grown-up question.
- Links, sharing and payments are only in the parent area.
- We follow Google Play's Families policy, and we aim to follow India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and similar laws where the app is offered (such as COPPA in the USA and the GDPR in Europe). Because the app sends no personal data to us, we hold none of your child's data to share, sell or use for advertising.
10. Keeping, deleting and moving your data
Everything stays on your phone until you remove it:
- remove a child: Parents › Children › Remove (or "Reset progress" to start again);
- delete a recording: Parents › Voice › ✕; delete a lesson and its photos: Parents › My lessons › Delete;
- delete everything: clear the app's data in your phone's Settings, or uninstall the app.
The app does not use Android's automatic cloud backup, so nothing is copied to an online account. To move progress to a new phone, use Parents › Backup (the file keeps progress, settings and lessons, but not photos or voice recordings).
11. Security
Your information stays in the app's private storage on your phone, which other apps cannot open. The parent area asks a grown-up question before any change, so children cannot change settings or reach the share and payment screens.
12. If you contact us
If you write to us by email or WhatsApp, we receive what you choose to send (for example your number and your message). We use it only to reply and to improve the app, keep it only as long as needed, never share or sell it, and delete it if you ask. Please don't send us personal details about your child that we don't need.
13. Changes to this policy
If the app changes in a way that affects your privacy, we will update this page and the date at the top before the new version reaches you.
